- How We Build

Our Process

At Form, maximum impact begins on day one. The earlier we’re involved, the more holistically we can design systems that work in tandem — not as isolated parts, but as coordinated components. That early engagement is what enables our end-to-end services and sets the foundation of Design for Manufacturing (DfM).

1

What is Design for Manufacturing?

Design for Manufacturing is the practice of engineering components so they’re easier, faster, and more precise to build, ship, and install. It means thinking ahead: aligning parts, reducing steps, and simplifying how systems come together in the field. At its core, DfM aims to eliminate unnecessary measurement, minimize material handling, and create self-guided assemblies. Instead of designing elements independently and hoping they fit together later, DfM allows us to engineer components that locate and support other components.

2

Reducing Waste By Design

Measurement and material handling are two of the biggest sources of waste in construction. Our end-to-end approach — designing, coordinating, fabricating, and delivering complete assemblies — is built to eliminate both. By pre-locating components and engineering assemblies that guide themselves, we reduce the need for manual measurement and repetitive handling, ultimately resulting in a safer and faster installation on-site that alleviates significant labor demands.

Our philosophy is simple: If we can make multiple components install together, accurately and consistently, we do it.

3

Innovative Design for Installation Efficiency

When DfM principles guide a project from the outset, the impact is macro-level:

  • Systems can be coordinated as a single unit.
  • Adjacent pieces can be redefined or combined.
  • Assemblies can be used to locate future assemblies to minimize redundant layout.
  • More elements can be integrated into an intelligent assembly.

With our end-to-end approach, our design process allows us to improve efficiency at all levels while adding real value and reducing waste.
